CANDACE COREY BEAUTY BLOG These are some of the day to day events that happen to me as a professional makeup artist. |
December 5, 2017 I had the honor of doing makeup and creative direction for a beauty spread in OnMakeup magazine a few months ago. In a time of high glam Instagram makeup, I decided to go with clean simple uncluttered beauty looks. I started with a classic makeup look on models Lauren and Riley using Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics. The tones were of pink, grey and a bit of purple from the Glamour Muse eye shadow palette. I used the same palette but in two different ways on each model but to take it to the next level I tapped a touch of lipgloss on their eye lids to add shine. The gloss gave the look edge, and made it look modern. For model Abbie, I went completely monochromatic using various shades of bronzer and contour powder by Nars to create depth and dimension. I started with the Laguna bronzer on the cheeks and temples for a kiss of color. Then I shaped the face in a combination of contour powders, with Talia, Paloma and Melina to sculpt. I even used it on the outer corners of the eyes as eyeshadow. As a change of pace, models Juliellyn and Lea got a bold splash of color. I made Juliellyn's eyes the focus by using blue shadow from Chanel and Kat Von D. The rest of the face was toned down to keep it looking sophisticated. To create the bright lip color on Lea, I used the Everlasting liquid lipstick with a matte finish from Kat Von D beauty. To complete the look I left the eyes nude. No matter which look I created, all of them were with the used of makeup brushes. For Day 5 I'll be giving away some makeup brushes by Sephora so you can create your own looks. |
