I've never been to London but I did get a chance to work with Britian's Got Talent singer Paul Potts. He is doing concerts around the world to promote his CD. I got a chance to do his makeup for his appearance on the CW channel in Chicago.

When he came to the tv station he practiced for a few hours to warm up his voice. The moment he opened his mouth I was blown away. The power that his voice gives vibrates through you. It was like standing in front of a speaker on full blast! I can just imagine how amazing the concert was that night.

Even though he has this amazingly strong voice, he is very quiet in person. If I was doing a world tour you couldn't shut me up! I would be so excited and talking a mile a minute but he, with the occassional answers to my questions, was rather reserve. He politely sat in my chair and let me do what ever I needed to prep his skin. After completing his makeup he just thanked me with a smile and went back to practicing.

After the tv segment was over he thanked everyone for being supportive and went to his car. No attitude...no fuss...just sweet and genuine. Like his music.

Beauty Questions

Beauty question: "I have a question for you, I am trying to find a good concealer to cover scars on my head. I am planning to shave it-not much hair left. Of all the products out in the market which would you recommend. I have heard about amazing cosmetics, Janet Iredale and Dermablend...are there others.what are my best options?"- from Albert in Sacremento.

Answer: Since it will be on your head I would suggest Dermablend Leg & Body Cover Foundation. It is a creamy consistency so it is easy to apply, but also lays flat against your skin so it won't look like makeup.

Get 2 different shades to make sure you match your skin tone correctly, especially through the Winter and Summer seasons. Makeup applies best on hydrated skin so don't forget to apply an oil free moisturizer to your head first. Use one with an SPF for the best protection.

MY FAVORITE THINGS

My favorite thing this month is the Biotone Facial Therapy Microrefiner. It is especially formulated for face, neck and decolletage area so it is gentle, with Vitamin C to boost collagen, and Vitamin K to reduce the appearance of tiny viens. I used it on my face for several weeks and each time I used it my skin felt like silk!

Hmmm....I just got a great idea! I think I'll start with my feet and work my way up to my head! Ok....Gotta go now....it's SPA TIME!
